Temperature sensor startup problems

I’ve installed my brand new nest and it works fine. That is installed with google home app. Now I’m trying to set up the best temperature sensor and it tells me to use the nest app to do so. When I get there, it says you need to install a nest thermostat which reverts you to google home to do so. And of course when you try to install the sensor, it bounces you to the nest app. Im in an never ending loop.

Exact same issue here. This seems to be a common problem with other nest devices.

I'll likely be returning the sensor soon because there's absolutely no way to install it at this time.
