iphone indicates that my wifi and bluetooth are on and connected - but unable to connect from phone

I have checked with my iPhone (Apple) and my internet carrier, but there is no resolution. When I look at "settings" on my phone, it indicates that Wi-Fi is connected, but when I try to connect to Nest, I get a 'no connectivity' message.
