Nest thermostat..did factory reset.. got entry code .. put it in app but still could not connect?

Did factory reset on nest thermometer.. got entry code and serial number.. input code .. connecting circle swirled for a bit.. then I got a message that I would need to do a factory reset which I had already done successfully.. help?
