Nest thermo 3rd gen doesnt rotate propely and randomly selects stuff

My 3rd gen nest thermostat has become difficult to turn. It also randomly select things or jumps around screens when rotating. I have new WiFi so need to out the new WiFi password in, but can even get to the screen

I'm not sure, we usually use the app and have no need to use the actual device until now.Not been dropped
