This! My 1st gen was working a week ago, now it isn't supported anymore!
They are phasing out all Chromecast products...there's info about it

They do, the first gen stopped being supported over the weekend. Mine
was working just fine. They are planning to phase out all chrome casts.
Because they want to do Google TV instead
