Now my nest completely died. No display. I opened it and manually
charged the battery to a green blinking light, but still nothing. C-wire
is connected and has 24V AC on it as it should. This is the thermostat
that new out of the box earlier this yea...
I bet it's like the new one I got. The internal battery discharges and
it won't charge the battery itself. I had to open mine and manually
charge the battery a while, then the thermostat saw some charge and
charged it the rest of the way. Still didn'...
Yes, any networks. I just tried a mobile hotspot and the moment I OK the
password on the Nest, it says Failed to connect, no delay for even
trying to connect. (I verified that the same credentials typed in
manually on a phone connects to the hotspot....
My Nest E doesn't give any error message. When I go to the WiFi section,
it just hangs on Searching, never shows any WiFi networks to connect to.
Manually entering SSID also doesn't work. I have to manually cancel WiFi
scanning to get back to the set...
My unit's WiFi was dead on a unit fresh out of sealed packaging, never
even used yet. It was bought a few years ago so I'm probably out of
luck. Fool me once...
