Adjust Home Devices list is noiw blank in GOOGLE Home Routines

I have not been editing or creating new GOOGLE Home routines in a few months.

When I went in to do so recently, I selected Add Action, as usual, and chose, Adjust Home Devices but the subsequent device list is blank. This occurs when I edit or create a new routine, on every device I have. All the other lists from the parallel submenus are OK, just the device listing is blank.

The routines still work, I can still control all devices - I am just Euchred when it comes to trying to control them in routines.

There was an update to the app last month. I have stopped the app, uninstalled it, etc. - all the usual stuff but nothing works.

I only have one language selected and it matches my phone.

dont feel bad, it isnt just you. happened to me yesterday too. had my brother and mom check theirs, same thing. evidently, someone finally figured out they had failed to test and broke something and rolled it back, because its back to working now.

typical google quality. i can only assume there is absolutely *zero* QA, UAT, or change management that goes on at google, because even the most cursory level of quality control would catch such a serious bug with a critical central feature like this.

hopefully, when they bust google up for anti-trust, and the rest of the company cant just half-a** everything because they know they can coast along on the ad revenue, we will see google's software devs start producing solid work and following best practices for a change.

Hi folks,

 

@francesco-penza, I know how it feels when something isn’t working as it should, let’s get this resolved. A few things: What is the make and model of the phone that you are using? Was the feature working before? What troubleshooting steps did you take?

 

Try to delete and create a new routine and see if this will make any difference. You can also try to uninstall and reinstall your Google Home app.

Hi there,

 

Thanks for trying the steps provided from the previous post. Are you able to add other Nest devices aside from your Nest camera to isolate the issue? Which Nest camera? Is the Nest camera in the same home structure?

 

Try to restart your camera to refresh the device. Let me know how it goes.
