The Home app uses the "Phone" audio profile instead of the "Speaker" audio profile. This causes a problem with the audio of the google/nest cameras. The audio for the newer Google/Nest cams is barely audible, and for the older ones the audio is just ok at max Phone volume level. The Nest app is vastly better for hearing the audio of the nest cams as that app uses the "Speaker" audio profile/control. The Home app should be using the speaker audio profile/controls.
People have been complaining about this in various forums.

Hi @AlGore,
Thanks for reaching out to the community. I understand the audio quality of your Nest Cameras in the Google Home app is poor compared to how your previous Nest Cameras sounded when set up in the Nest app.
