Hi, my Bravia (Android TV with built in chromecast) is showing as TV in Local Devices in the Home app but I cannot move it to a room and cannot use assistant to make commands to the TV. When I click into the TV in Hom app, there are no settings options and I cannot remove the device. I am able to adjust volume only. There is a Request invite to Home button and a Cast to Screen button. Chromecast works from my phone ok.
When I "Hey google play to TV" to play youtube or spotify etc, assistant says it does not know the device.
Any help please?

Hello Shijiko,
Thanks for reaching out. We'd love to help.
Devices showing under Local devices are those that are setup on the same WiFi network but not on the same account; that's why you're also seeing an option to request an invite. This is why your Google Home device is unable to communicate with it. You'll have to remove or reset your device and set it up on your Home structure so you'll be able to properly manage it. Visit this support article for more information.
Hope this helps.
Best,
Lovely

Hi Lovely, thank you for your assistance. I checked the account my TV is using and it is definitely the correct google account (same as my other devices on same network - 2x Nests and mobile phones and AVR etc). I went ahead and deleted the account from the TV and did a power reset then reconnected to the google account again. This has not changed my initial problem. The TV is still showing in Local Devices and no settings are available and I cannot add it to my Home. Are you able to offer any further advice about what I could try next to resolve this please?
Regards,
Brett

Hi, I have a same issue. I have SONY A95K and the brand new Google nest mini 2nd gen. It shows the TV as a local device and I am unable to pair it.

Hi folks,
@Shijiko, thanks for providing more information about your concern. Please try to uninstall and reinstall your Google Home app. Sign in using your Google Account and if the TV is under Local devices, try to factory reset and setup one of your Google Nest devices.
@Andrea29, please try to run through the steps I provided above. Let me know if it helps.

Hi there, thanks again but it did not help the situation.
I've followed your instructions and deleted Home app, reinstalled, signed in.
Factory reset Nest Hub and setup again.
Issue persists same as before.
Cheers,
Brett

Hello Andrea29,
Some TVs may go into standby mode, which makes them unresponsive to Assistant commands if the TV model doesn't support Wake on LAN. Since you can’t turn on your TV but all other Assistant commands work (including "turn off"), it’s likely that the TV doesn't support Wake on LAN, but I highly suggest reaching out to your TV manufacturer to see if your device has this setting.
Cheers,
Lovely

Hi, sorry for the late reply. I managed to connect the TV to Nest mini. I had to do factory reset of the TV. Thanks for your help with this. It works well till I switch off the tv for few hours, then when I want to switch it on with voice command it will tell me that the tv is not available and I have to switch it on manually. After it is on then the voice commands work perfectly till the tv is again off for few hours or overnight. Any advice on this? Thanks.
