Hi @Janis

Try turning off your phone and then back on.  If that doesn't work, try deleting the app and then re-download it.

Hi, I did all of the above, twice.  The only way i could utilize my Nest was to download Google Home which was not my preferred method.  It crashes every time I logged in with my google account.

Hi there Janis,

I'm sorry to hear that your Nest app is giving you some login trouble, let me just dig a little deeper to see if we can find the issue:

  1. When did this start?
  2. What type of phone are you using?
  3. Is it happening on all iOS devices available?
  4. Are you getting any messages?

Go ahead and give these steps a try to see if they fix that issue:

  1. Check that the Nest app has permission to use the phone's location: Settings > Privacy > Location services.
  2. Check the iOS system setting for Background Refresh: Settings > General > Background Refresh. This is switched off at the system level by default, which will prevent the Nest app from updating appropriately to the server, even though this feature is enabled by default in the app. Note: Turning on Background Refresh will enable the feature for all apps; to save battery, you may want to disable Background Refresh on a per-app basis.
  3. Check the App Store for any available updates to the Nest app.
  4. Check for and process any pending iOS updates for the device.
  5. Sign out of the Nest app and sign back in.
  6. Close the Nest app from multitasking and relaunch it: Double tap the iOS device’s home button to display the multitasking screen, and then swipe up on the Nest app to close it.
  7. Test for issue persistence on both Wi-Fi and cellular data (if applicable).
  8. Restart the device.
  9. Uninstall the Nest app and reinstall it from the App Store.
  10. Try an alternate compatible device if available.

If you are still having the login issue after these steps, please let me know, and we can dig even deeper. I appreciate your patience, and I look forward to your response!

Best regards,

Jeran
