Assistant account and Netflix not working

Hi everyone

Couldn't find an answer to my specific issue. So we recently bought the Google nest mini and Chromecast with Google TV. We have both set up properly and connected to the right wifi etc. My husband is able to properly get a show or movie started by asking the Nest Mini or his phone to e.g "Play Lucifer on Netflix on Family Room TV" and it works well (through his assistant account). When I however ask the same thing on the Nest Mini or phone, it will say initially, "Okay, playing Lucifer on Netflix on Family Room TV" and then "Sorry I can't play Netflix on Android TV yet, try it on your remote". I can however get it started by saying the same command on his account but not on mine.

 

So my voice is not the issue but it seems my account is. The Netflix account is in my husband's name but he is not using his gmail account for it but rather an outlook account. I have Netflix linked to my assistant account and my profile is selected

I have tried changing a bunch of settings but not sure what the issue is as I keep getting the same error

you would need to be sure that both your and your husbands accounts are linked in the google home app, so that you both have access.  The below link will help guide you 🙂

Thanks for the response. We are both in the same household on the Google Home App (and we have the same names for the devices and same addresses for them) and all the other services work well i.e switching the TV on with voice commands, playing music on YouTube music/Spotify, playing videos on YouTube. It's just Netflix that works for him and not for me

The suggestion he gave didn't work because as I said in my reply to him, we were already in the same household in Google Home. The only troubleshooting I've done is as I've said in the reply - tested other services and they work fine, linked and unlinked Netflix to both of our accounts. The most I can get the Nest Mini to do is to open Netflix - but even then, it doesn't always work. We have fibre and good wifi so it's not a connection issue. At this point I've given up because I can't find anything online and it's easier to just speak to the remote of our Chromecast device. Would just have been nice to setup routines that could access Netflix but doesn't seem to work on my account
