Hi Kvillamena,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Community. I’d be happy to help you with the Nest thermostat. Let’s check it out.

A few questions: which country are you located in? What model of Nest thermostat do you have?

For the new Nest Thermostat, you can scan the QR code on the back of the display or manually enter the code.

  1. Open the Home app Google Home app.
  2. Tap Devices Add Google Nest or partner device Google Nest or partner device.
  3. Choose a home.
  4. The app will search for devices that you can add. If it doesn't find your thermostat, select it from the list.
  5. To continue with a QR code: Scan the QR code on the back of your Nest Thermostat display.
Tip: If the scan is unsuccessful, you can tap Continue without scanning. Select the thermostat you are setting up and enter the code on the back of the thermostat display.
  6. The Home app will walk you through installation.

On the Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E, follow the directions below:

  1. To bring up the Quick View menu, press the ring.
  2. Turn the ring to Settings Nest settings icon and press to select.
  3. Choose Nest app Get Entry Key.
  4. Your thermostat should show you a 7-character key to enter in the Nest app.

Let me know if you have any questions.

All the best,

Lance
