Can't remove home from Nest app

robnis
Community Member

I have a Nest fire alarm and when I set it up in the Nest app I some how setup two home locations.  I have successfully completed the setup of the alarm on one of them and now want to remove the duplicate.  However when I click the "Remove home" button per all the articles I have seen, it asks "are you sure" and nothing happens after I click YES.

After doing some searching on these forums and the web in general, it appears that this has been a common issue, but no acceptable solution has been found; and some of these articles are many years old.

Google Home is not an option as I only see one Home location in it and it appear the fire alarms are not compatible with it; which is mildly annoying on its own.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hi @robnis,

Thank you for posting in the community. I’m sorry to hear that you are not able to remove the duplicated home structure in your Nest app even after you click on the remove home button. Don’t worry, help is here.

To gather all the necessary information and provide you with the best assistance, please answer the following questions:

  1. Is your Nest app updated?
  2. Have you tried using another device to delete the duplicated home structure?

In the meantime, you can try the steps below to delete the duplicated home structure:

Nest app:

  1. Open the Nest app.
  2. At the top left, tap the menu icon.
  3. Select the home that you want to remove.
  4. At the top right corner.
  5. Tap Settings.
  6. Home info.
  7. Leave home.
  8. Leave.

Additionally, I suggest reviewing the following articles: Manage homes and products with the Nest app and Organize your homes and devices in the Google Home app.

Don't hesitate to keep me posted if you have any other questions.

Best regards.

Derick.
