Can't sign into my Nest Account

Geo63

While I was in the app I was suddenly logged out and when I tried logging back in, it did not recognize my password.

I tried the password reset option, but I never receive the email and yes, I checked my junk mail.

I believe I also migrated my account to Google a couple of years ago, but when I go into the Google Home app, the devices are not shown.

I have deleted and reinstalled the app.
I was also in the app the day before as well and can access the devices through my linked Amazon Alexa app.

@Geo63

If you migrated your Nest Account to a Google Account a couple of years ago, then for the last couple of years you have been signing into the Google Nest app by selecting the "Sign on with Google" option and using the Google Account to which you migrated, and you have been signing into the Google Home app with the same Google Account.

If you are now going to the Google Home app and seeing none of your Google Nest devices, and are unable to sign back into the Google Nest app, then it is possible that in both cases you are somehow inadvertently NOT logging on with the same Google Account you have been using for the last couple of years to sign into both the Google Nest app and the Google Home app.

I'm just another Google Nest customer, who migrated in 2020.

Thanks for the reply. I guess the bottom line is that I would prefer to just log into the Nest app. I just tried the Google Home app to try to get to my devices.

I don't understand how I could be using the app, signed into it two days in a row, and then all of a sudden I can't get into it anymore.

@Geo63

The most likely reason for being unable to sign in AND not receiving a password reset email is that you are somehow inadvertently trying to sign in with the wrong email account, one that is not registered with Google Nest.  And that same reason would explain why, when signing into the Google Home app, you are not seeing any of your Google Nest devices (because you are somehow inadvertently trying to sign in with the wrong email account, one that has no Google Nest devices installed).

Google Nest sometimes does require us to log back on from time to time.

Thank you for your response, but I know this isn't the case. There are only two possible email addresses I would have used (they are also saved in my iOS passward app), and the password reset does not work for either of them.

You could try contacting Support:

1. Go to https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp.
2. Select a category/product family, and type in a brief description of the issue, then click "Next".
3. Select your device from the dropdown, click "Other", then click "Next step".
4. Under "Resources", just click "Next step". (Clicking one of the listed links will bring up a Help page.)
5. Under "Contact options", choose to get a phone call or chat with the team, depending on availability in your country.

Experiencing login issues with the Nest app can be frustrating, especially when your devices are still accessible through platforms like Alexa. At aec-Int.com , we understand how important seamless connectivity and access are for smart device users. For reliable and integrated smart technology solutions, trust us to help bridge the gap between innovation and usability.

Try “Sign in with Google” if you migrated the account. If that doesn’t work, use incognito mode or another device, then contact support since your devices are still active via Alexa. More help with aec-int.com.
