Cannot log in

I have an older nest thermostat and cannot login in. I choose to reset password but I do not get any emails

  • What model of Nest thermostat do you have? (Here is a helpful article to identify the model of the Nest thermostat).
  • What is the make and model of your iOS device?
  • What is the iOS version?
  • What is the Nest app version?
  • What is your service provider?
  • When did you first encounter the issue? Does this happen often?

What model of Nest Thermostat do you have? the older one I have I got in approximately  8 yrs ago not sure of the model... can you tell me how to find that information

 What is the make and model of your iOS device? I have an Iphone 12 pro max
What is the iOS version? 18.6.2 (22G100)
What is the Nest app version? I do not know the NEST app version, how can I look that up?
What is your service provider? provider is ATT
When did you first encounter the issue? This happened about 6-12 months after I set it up way back then and I have never be able to get it back , it works in the house I just cannot acces with my phone ( not my previous phone )
Does this happen often? has been persistent since back then

Based on what you've shared, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Verify Date and Time Settings Ensure your device’s Date and Time settings are correct and set automatically:
  • Go to Settings on your phone, then tap General, and then Date & Time.
  • Toggle Set Automatically off and then back on.
  • Verify that the timezone, date, and time are correct.
  1. Confirm Nest App Permissions Ensure the Nest app has the necessary location permissions on your phone:
  • Go to Settings, then Privacy, then Location Services, and select Nest.
  1. Perform a Full App Refresh
  • Uninstall the Nest app from your phone.
  • Power cycle your mobile device (turn it off and on).
  • Reinstall the Nest app on your phone.
  • Log in to your account.
