UPDATE: I actually managed to get somebody from Nest to tech-support on the phone and within 10 minutes he had helped me resolve this issue and reset my nest thermostat. I have never had to login to my Nest app on my iPhone until suddenly today when it prompted me for an email and password. I tried my regular email and it would not take any password I’ve ever had. I clicked the forgot password link and received no email.
I don’t think I ever migrated this app to one of my Google emails, but just in case, I tried both of those emails as well and tapped the forgot password link and still received no email in any three inboxes to reset my password.
researching this on the web and in these forums gives me a little hope there is a solution to this. I do not want to use my Gmail account for Nest because I use it for very specific things that don’t include this. however, I finally got desperate and tried the login with Google link which took me to one of my Google accounts under which Nest was listed. But it prompted me to set up a new device (which implies that this was not in fact the account I set it up with originally), which requires you to have some kind of key you get off of your thermostat. The thermostat says it is already set up with an account and does not provide a key. I’m basically stuck in an endless loop and don’t know how to get out. Any help is appreciated.
