Cannot remove nest camera from Google Home as account is corrupt.

I have a Google Nest Hub Max and I had associated the Nest camera with my Google account. I had a home setup and everything was working. Then the Google Home app failed to connect to my home and the screen was blank or said "Oops, we're having trouble loading this screen." I cleared all data and reinstalled the Google Home app but still the same problem. Installing the Google Home app on another device was fine until I used my Google account and then there was the same problem.

If I set up a dummy Google account this works but I cannot access my original home with it to delete any devices. Every time I try to delete the Nest camera part of my Nest Hub Max from the Nest account it transfers to Google Home and I cannot remove it. Google support have not been any help.

A factory reset of my Google Nest Hub Max has now left the device unusable as I cannot link it to the new dummy account as it is already linked to my corrupt Google account.

How can I remove the nest device from my account without using the Google Home App?

Hi @Brad,

I managed to fix the Google Home corrupt data (see https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Apps-Account/Google-Home-App/m-p/20591/emcs_t/S2h8ZW1haWx8dG9...) From here it was possible to use the app to do what I needed.

Hi there,

Sorry for my late response. Thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I just wanted to make sure that your issue is addressed. I can definitely understand how frustrating your situation must be. I would love to help you find a solution to this issue.

  • Do you still need help with this issue?

  • What troubleshooting steps have you done thus far?

  • Have you tried to restart your device if you haven’t already?

  • If the restart didn’t work, have you tried to do a Factory Reset? This would be a last resort option, but would clear out issues and the device would essentially be ‘brand new’

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Best Regards,

Brad.
