I have 2 outdoor Nest cameras, one purchased 3 years ago and one purchased 1 week ago. I tried to set up both cameras in the Google Home app, but am told I have to set up these cameras in the Nest app. The problem is that my Nest Aware subscription is only good for cameras set up in the Home app so I am stuck with a year long subscription which I cannot use with either camera. I did contact support via chat and was told I cannot get a refund or transfer a Nest Aware subscription but if I buy a new camera, I can set it up in the Google Home app and then I will be able to enjoy the benefits of the Nest Aware subscription. Not much of a solution if you ask me, but the truth is I had a new camera on order at the time. The problem is I could not set up that new camera in the Google Home app as Grover, the support person, stated. The Home app told me I had to set it up in the Nest app. I am so frustrated. Any help would be appreciated.

I apologize for my late response and thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I definitely understand how frustrating your situation must be, and I wanted to make sure that your concern was acknowledged. Have you migrated your account over Google Home app yet? That could be the issue you are having. If you have older cams that are connected to Nest, you would have to go through the migration process over to Google Home besore. Learn more here.
Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Brad.
