I am constantly being logged out of the nest app.   I have tried reinstalling the app multiple times. App and nest hello is up to date.

i have the same issue - i believe its a glitch or bug within the app but cannot say for certain. constantly having to log back in is sufficiently annoying

I have the same issue as well.  It its not a wi-fi problem since it happens on every wifi network and cellular under all conditions.  This problem has existed since 2019!

Same issue. Repeatedly says problem connecting to nest service then logs back in/reconnects automatically. Reinstalled app, persists.

Hi there,

I apologize for my late response. Thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I can definitely understand how frustrating your situation must be. I just wanted to make sure that your issue is addressed. I have the same issue with my own personal cameras, but I just log back in. There is no such fix as far as I am aware as its an ongoing bug that only affects a small group of our customers. Just make sure that your devices are updated to the latest software, and try logging back in.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Best Regards,

Brad.

Hi Brad,

This is a really serious issue because you cannot use the App for more than 30 seconds without being logged out and starting all over again.  It is almost unusable.  Plus the App is almost the only way to use the full Nest functionality.  Yes, this is the latest software, and has been going on since I first became a customer.

Thanks,

-Steve

Brad - with that kind of customer support...easy to start looking at an Ecobee thermostat.  Getting logged out of the Nest app every 30 seconds makes it unusable.  It also affects home/away status so this is serious.  All devices are up to date, as is the software.  What next?

FYI- I just switched over to Google and this started happening.  I was reluctant to switch and now I know why.  This never happened before.

I have to constantly reset Nest as can’t use the app unless I do. It means having to put my schedule in each time. Phone and app up to date. Please help.

I don't think asking me to log back in is the answer when I am trying to setup a nest detect sensor, half way through the setup, and got log out, leaving the setup unfinished. Logged back in, and the nest detect is not functional since setup has not completed - ok, I can continue the setup (that is good) but it restart from a place that is not far into the process, so I have to re-do part of the process (that's ok right?)... only to get logged out again because the process of setting up nest detect is longer than 30 seconds. So there is no chance I will ever get the nest detect setup complete.

This bug, and the response of "just log back in", coming from Google and Nest, is just unacceptable.

Same issue here. We have 2 thermostats, a wired doorbell and several cameras. We use 1 camera as a baby monitor and having the app automatically log out in the middle of the night isn’t acceptable. Our son was screaming in his crib for hours while we were sleeping like babies. Also, had the same issue as mentioned above with device setup. App logged me out several times while in the setup process and you have to go back to the beginning each time. I’m on the latest iOS and the app is up to date.

Hey folks,

I apologize for my absence on this topic, but we have found this issue/inquiry to be caused by a bug. At this time, we do not have a current fix, nor do we have an ETA I am afraid. However, please try to exhaust any options that you have, and let us know if you have found a form of workaround. Please let me know if you need further assistance, and share your results for the rest of the community if you wish!

Best Regards,

Brad.

I've had this problem for months and have not found a workaround. Please share an ETA as soon as you have one available. Does the team working on the fix need logs or any other info from us? I'm sure many people here would love to help get this fixed. Thanks!

@Brad - one thing I've found that often works is to turn off Mobile Data *or* turn off wifi. Were I to guess, it sounds like you authentication/encryption has issues when data flips between mobile and wifi. It's pretty infuriating and has been going on for years. Given that you and other Nest folks appear to experience this as well, I can't understand why it hasn't been fixed...

You have a reproducer, you have engineering staff, what's the problem?!
