Count down timer

I have a smart switch that doesn't have count down feature in its control app. This switch works great with Google Home. I created automation to use my voice to turn off the switch. I was also able to create automation that captures "turn on" event. However I can't call  delayed turn-off the automation that will turn this switch off in 10 minutes from from "trun on" trigger automation. As instructed I used custom command in the trigger automation to call delayed turn off automation and type "activate automation_name". This command works fine if I use my voice. But no matter what I do the trigger automation doesn't invoke delayed turn off automation. Trigger automation used to work fine before with IFTTT applet that was exported to Google Home app as a smart scene. That applet turned off switch in 10 minutes. Thank you in advance for any help with this issue,

Hello Vadim1,

Thanks for posting here in the Community.

I understand that the IFTTT applet to delay turning off the switch worked before; however, this automation feature is not supported for routines. We do appreciate your thoughts about making this available. Please share your feedback about this with our product team.

Let us know if you have additional questions or concerns; otherwise, I'll close the thread after 24 hours.

Best regards,
Lovely

Hello LovelyM,

Many thanks for your reply. I wonder if there is any other way for me to come up with automation/routine or combination of routines/automations to get countdown timer functionality. I understand that this feature is not implemented due to high cloud space costs associated with running countdown timer in software, but I noticed that some routines may be run on customer devices such as Google Nest Hub. This is great idea and will definitely offset costs to customer premises in this case. Thank you in advance for your reply,

 Vadim.

Hi Lovely,

No thank you, I will wait for that feature to be implemented and for the meantime I will try to find IFTTT alternative.

Thank you again,

 Vadim.
