Disconnecting speakers after a certain time

Evinger55

Hi Again,

New Question. We like to listen to Audiobooks in bed & set a timer for the book to stop after a certain time. If I use cast to send the book to a speaker group, will those speakers automatically disconnect after a certain period onf inactivity, or do I have to disconnect from the group manually the next morning. I have been looking for any info on this but found nothing.

Thanks for any replies

Hi there Evinger55,

Thanks for reaching out to our community.

Nest Hub speakers won't turn off due to lack of activity since they're continuously playing media.

Currently, the Nest Hub isn't able to stop playback automatically. The only workaround would be to set up an alarm and then stop the casting manually.

However, it's a great suggestion! I would recommend filling out this feedback form. This form will reach our developers directly, so a feature like the one you need might be implemented in the future.

I appreciate your understanding.

Regards,
Angel.
