I'm trying to migrate my nest account to my google account. I'm getting the message "this google account is already linked with another nest account". I see posts from 2022 and older saying you can't unlink a nest account and that you either have to create a new google account to manage your nest, or you have to delete your nest setup and start from scratch.
I'm REALLY hoping this isn't still the case.
Please let me know how I can remove this empty nest account that is linked to my google account.
Thank you.

You get that message if you've ever set up a Google Nest device with that Google Account. There is no way to unlink it to a Nest Account.
See the "Error message: Google Account is already linked with another Nest Account" topic in the Help topic below for Google Nest's workaround instructions:

Ok. Note to self. Avoid google products. Not easy to work with. I know google does read this stuff, and obviously doesn't care. But, it will make me feel better (slightly maybe?) typing it.
Just so messed up that they will inconvenience their customers like this. Putting the labor of fixing the issue on us (creating new accounts or deleting and starting over) instead of spending the time fixing the issue for their customers. Not that I was naive enough to think they cared. . . they do just enough to get you to buy the product.
Whatever. . . Nope. Don't feel better. I still have a fu. . . messed up device that I have to spend time researching how to fix.
Thanks google. This is just so stupid.
