Google Home not allowing CYNC permissions to load

Lucasdad
Community Member

I'm trying to give Google home permissions to my CYNC account but it is not loading the last step.

I am able to get to the screen to log into my CYNC account but when I hit the "Sign in" button nothing happens. The username and password accuracy have been validated by logging on directly to CYNC. The issue is only when trying to connect to Google Home App.

I had same problem then when I finally got it to allow log on I got a message saying no devices are in my account. When I go to Cync app all the lights are there

@Rednursercr what did you do to get that far? The button is completely unresponsive for me.

@Azarco, I saw you had some knowledge on a similar situation in another thread. Do you have any ideas that can help here?

I have devices that can't use the seamless setup option and must got through the CYNC app. Unfortunately for me, when trying to give the Google home app permissions to connect to my CYNC account the buttons on that page don't work and I can't move forward to finish the process.

Hey folks,

Thanks for reaching out, let check this out.

A few questions: was it working before? Are your lights still working on the Cync app? Also, what's the exact name and model of your lights?

Give these steps a try:

  • Make sure your mobile, Google Home device and smart light bulbs are all on the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Your lights should be working on their own.
  • Make sure your Google Home and Google Assistant app are updated.
  • Try uninstalling and reinstalling your Google Home app.
  • Reboot your phone, lights, Google Home and router to refresh the connection.

Hope this helps!

Best,

Alex

Hey sorry for the delayed response... I tried those steps but still ran into the same issue. Everything works in the CYNC app, but the Home App will not let me link the account. After putting in the username and password the button doesn't do anything, I even tried putting in the incorrect password purposely to see if that did something but still nothing happens.

Hey Lucasdad,

Thanks for letting us know. Could you try resetting your Cync lights and Google Home speaker?

Best,

Alex

These are CYNC smart switches actually so they don't pair directly with Google home. I also have CYNC smart lights that are working with no issues but they were set up directly within the Google Home App. The switches don't have the seamless setup capability to my knowledge so they need to have my CYNC account linked to Google home.

Hi Lucasdad,

We understand. Have you tried resetting or removing your smart switches on the Cync app? How about resetting your Google Home speaker? Also, can you provide the exact name or model of your switches?

Thanks,

Alex

Yes, all were just reset after moving into a new home and had to all be manually reconnected.

There are 2 light switches:

GE CYNC Smart Light Switch On/Off Paddle Style, Neutral Wire Required, Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi Switch

And this one:

GE CYNC Smart Light Switch On/Off Toggle Style, Neutral Wire Required, Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi Switch
