Google Home not controlling fan speed on iPhone???

What's up guys/gals? I just installed my second Google home compatible (Govee) smart fan. I can connect & power it up fine, but I noticed that I have lost the ability to control fan speed through the home app. Is this a permanent change or is there a fix? Thanks in advance

Hi there DMaughn,

Thanks for reaching out to our community.

If your fans have lost the ability to control their speed, it can certainly be frustrating. Don't worry, though, let's see what's going on.

I'm guessing you were able to control the fan speed before. However, please let me know: since when did you lose the ability to do so? Was it after you added the second Govee fan?

I would recommend troubleshooting the Google Home app by:

  • Clearing the app data and cache.
  • Making sure you have the latest update installed.
  • Uninstalling and reinstalling the Google Home app.

I would also recommend checking if you can see the fan speed controls on a different device, such as a phone or tablet.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,

Angel.

Thanks for your reply Angel,

The issue was resolved.

The fan is made by Govee & my girlfriend did not have the app.

She was able to control fan speed at my place through the Google Home app on her iPhone without the Govee app installed but when I bought one for her place she thought that would continue. Apparently not.

Hopefully this will help others in the future!
