Google Nest Battery Doorbell Smartthings Integration

Hi, I wonder if anyone can shed some light on this issue.

I purchased a new Google Nest Doorbell (battery), not the old nest hello doorbell.. and want to integrate it with SmartThings but when I go to add a Google Nest device in SmartThings, the new devices are not available.. only the old hello one which means I'm unable to integrate.   Devices where purchased from Google NZ Store so it's not that they aren't allowed in Region.  Could be Samsung not allowing the use of these new Nest devices yet I guess?

Any Ideas anyone?

Same issue here.

I bought a Samsung family hub fridge and a new battery doorbell from nest. Only the old wired versions seem to work... Come on guys this is crazy

Will this be possible in the Future or will it never be possible?

I was planning to buy the doorbell for the integration with my fridge

Hi there,

Sorry for my late response. Thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I just wanted to make sure that your issue is addressed. I can definitely understand how frustrating your situation must be. I would love to help you find a solution to this issue.

  • Do you still need help with this issue?

  • What troubleshooting steps have you done thus far?

  • Have you tried to restart your device if you haven’t already?

  • If the restart didn’t work, have you tried to do a Factory Reset? This would be a last resort option, but would clear out issues and the device would essentially be ‘brand new’

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Best Regards,

Brad.

Hi Brad,

The issue is that the devices don't show up in the list of compatible products in SmartThings.  Only the old Net products show up.  Your troubleshooting steps are irrelevant because of my above reason.

Is it up to Google to make them SmartThings compatible or Samsung?

Hey folks,

When it comes to compatibility, they are generally designed to work best in a Nest/Google environment. They may not all be compatible with some third-party platforms/applications. I can definitely send your feedback forward as a Feature Request, but I do not have any form of ETA, or confirmation that this will be an option. Terribly sorry for the inconvenience! Please let me know if you still need help.

Best Regards,

Brad.

Hey Brad,

That's the problem!! It doesn't work with the nest environment! Just put the new doorbell in there and the problem is solved!

Currently only the wired versions can be added.

Hi Brad, we still need help. The problem is that with not using the nest app with the doorbell battery, smartthings isn't connected anymore.

Simply restarting would not work as it's a compatibility issue.

So please add the doorbell battery to nest or make sure smartthings supports the new format
