Google home app and Nest app not gelling.....

I'm baffled?! I've been struggling with my Max hubs (1st gen) for the last few weeks as the integrated nest cameras decided to turn themselves off and I couldn't turn them back on again. We are having a new internet connection installed and the crap one is being cancelled so I was going to leave it till we had a good connection and then try and sort it out but I got impatient and I have been trying to sort them out over the last couple of days. But I came to realise something, that when I had set the cameras up in the Google Home app and then went to the nest app it asks me in the nest app do I want to use the cameras in the nest app if I clicked on 'yes' the cameras were then put 'offline' in the Google Home app and I was unable to view the camera footage either history or live? it's never done this before? Has anybody else come across this problem as I would like to be able to view my cameras in either my nest app or my Google home app? Because I clicked on 'no' the nest app won't let me use any of the features that I am paying a subscription for? 😡 Why has Nest had a hissy because I'd rather use Google home or preferably be able to use both, I thought it was all the same company 🤔 ???

Same issue here.  You would think that a company as mighty and powerful as Goggle could migrate companies they acquire.  I'm about to Schmitt can 6 cameras at two locations and start from scratch.

Hi folks,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community.

This is not the experience that we wanted you to have, let me help both of you. A few things: are you using the same account on both Google Home app and Nest app? If so, you should be able to control them on both apps.

You both can uninstall and reinstall both apps, then observe if this will fix the issue

Keep me posted.

Thanks,

Juni

Hey there,

How's it going with controlling your camera using your Google Nest Hub Max? Did reinstalling your apps work?

Found by elimination that its a Chrome issue. If I shut one of the cameras off, the site becomes stable.  As soon as I turn the third camera back on.  ALL the cameras start spazing out!  Went to Google Preview using Firefox fixed...No problem.  Contacted Google cameras. Walked them through step by step.  They informed me that I need to contact my computer manufacturer.  Really?  I fixed it using Firefox.  They told me to use Firefox until they can figure it out ( as a work around).  Computer is a Gateway, using Fiber optics. 16 Gig of memory.  What a joke!  If I call my computer company and tell them I have a problem with a certain web site using chrome but its OK using Firefox, they will probably laugh me off the line.  What's even worse.  It's a Google site that is having problems using Google products.  This is FREAKING NUTS!!!  Hopefully someone with Chrome support will read this and address their issues.

Hey spetro,

To make sure, are you using a browser in viewing your camera? If you migrated your Nest Account to Google Account, try visiting https://goo.gle/2UZL8VI to view your Nest camera and doorbell devices.

Thanks,

Alex
