Google home app changes stereo volume by 3 steps instead of 1

Hey all, I have an Xbox one x, not the newest generation, hooked up to maybe a 10 year old Samsung surround sound system with a digital optical cable. On the the native Xbox app, when I adjust the volume the stereo goes up or down 1 step but when I use the Google Home app the stereo moves 3 steps. My Google Home mini changes the volume by 3 steps when I tell it to change volume as well. I don’t use voice commands much so that’s fine but not sure if that would be the same setting that I also can’t find. I’ve searched through all the settings menus I can find on my iPhone, Xbox and my old Pixel and haven’t found anything. Thanks for any help!

Thanks for posting — let’s see what’s going on.

A few questions: was the Google Home Mini volume controls sync correctly before? If yes, when did the issue start? Have you tried some troubleshooting steps?

Please go ahead and reboot your Wi-Fi router, Google Home Mini and Xbox for five whole minutes. You can also ask your speaker, "Hey Google, sync my devices."
