Google home camera Notifications not working on iOS 15.2

I recently installed a newer nest cam. My previous two cameras (an indoor and my door bell) ran on the nest app whereas this new camera only runs in the Google home app. I’ve also recently updated my phone to 15.1 (and now 15.2 with no changes) and I can’t seem to get Google home notifications. It says they are turned off and to turn them on in the phone settings. However, if I open the phone settings and go to Google home, there are no options under the notifications tab as seen in the attached image. Anyone else having issues?

Okay I was successful in getting everything to work for me! Basically had to uninstall the google home app altogether. Restart my phone (which is the primary device for controlling the doorbell) this time i reinstalled and went throught each single step allow iphone to prompt me permissions. After i said yes to different prompts including ones I hadnt seen prior to the reinstall, I then accepted creating the nest account and fineally within the app: doorbell>settings> audio all options turned on. then settings> doorbell> visitor announcements was enabled to choose!! i hope this helps 🙂

I’m having exactly same issue. Notifications not working in the Home app for older devices, just the new Nest Cam Battery. Any ideas?

It seems like my notifications are working for the old camera and my door bell (in other words, the cameras running through the nest app).  However, the Google home camera (the new one) is not notifying me. I don’t even think it’s turning on and sensing that I am away.

Nothing. Phone just updated to 15.2.1 a couple days ago and no changes. So it definitely looks like it’s a problem with the Google home app. My camera seems to be working as expected I just don’t receive notifications. My old cameras that use the nest app are notifying me fine. Then again, I do feel like I get a lot less door bell notifications then I used to but that could also be because it’s tied to Google home and maybe it’s considering certain notifications critical while others not. My old nest cam that only works with the nest app seems to be working fine though.

Hey Folks.

Glad to hear that there is a found workaround! Go ahead and try those steps everyone. I understand it may be an inconvenience, but this bug is still an ongoing issue. I have no ETA, so I would suggest giving those steps a try. At this time, I'll go ahead and lock this thread. If you're still experiencing problems, feel free to start a new thread and we'll be happy to help.

Best Regards,

Brad.
