Google shopping list features deprecated?

What happened to the previous version of the google shopping list app? I used to be able to select and drag items around to reorder them on the previous version. You could add notes to each entry and you could collapse all the completed items so they were hidden at the bottom.

This new version seems like a regression with loss of multiple features. What happened? Am I missing something?

There's been an update. Lots of posts over in the Google Assistant Community and they've been escalated to the Assistant forum's Community Manager. 

I'll escalate your post here as well for visibility to the Google Nest team as well.

Oh no worries, the shopping list is also part of the Google Home devices and app so both forums fit the question.
