Home App Nest Video Issues

Currently have Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy Watch 4.  When viewing Nest camera on Home app, the sound on my phone skips and the volume control is erratic.  Then when I get in my car and start it, my phone app in my car automatically starts as if I'm on a call and says "voicemail" as if I'm calling my voicemail.  The only way to "end" this call is to restart my phone.  If I'm not in my car, I can fix the sound issues on my phone by disconnecting my watch from it, then reconnecting it.  It will then work fine until I view another camera video in the Home app.  I see other people have this same issue, but I don't see any real solutions yet.  Someone please help!

Hi catlover4ever,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community.

This is not the experience that we wanted you to have, let me help you out. A few things: was this feature working before? If so, when did you issue begin? Were there any recent changes made before the issue started? You can uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app and see if it will make any difference. If that did not work, try to use another phone to further isolate the issue.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,

Juni

Hi Juni,

The issue seems to device specific, but only when viewing my Nest cameras on my Home app.  I can watch other videos (Netflix, YouTube, etc.) through my Home app, with no issues.  My husband has a Samsung Flip phone and he doesn't have these issues.  So, it has something to do with the Galaxy S22/Home/Nest.  I have uninstalled the Home app and reinstalled it but it didn't fix the issue.  While reading through this community I see I am not the only one with this issue, but so far no one has posted a solution.  It's very frustrating.  Hopefully someone will figure this out soon!  Please let me know if you have any info/fixes.  Thank you!

Hi catlover4ever,

Chiming in — thanks for providing some details. For us to isolate more of the issue if this is the Home app or the mobile device, could you try using another mobile device on any android or iOS device if it will make a difference?

Keep me posted.

Best,

Nikki
