Home app not setting up

I get to the early part of setting up and the OK box is greyed out, I cannot seem to continue

any ideas on this?  I have reinstalled the app, phone is up to date, etc.

Thank you for posting in the community. I understand that you are having trouble continuing with the setup process in the Google Home app because the "OK" button is greyed out.

You have clearly shown an image of the screen displaying the Google Terms of Service and Privacy Policy details, which is the point where you are stuck. The reason the "OK" button is greyed out is often due to the page not being fully scrolled to the bottom.

The system requires confirmation that you have viewed the entire text before allowing you to proceed.

To resolve this issue and continue with the setup, please try the following steps:

  • Scroll to the very end: Use your finger to swipe up on the screen and make sure you have scrolled through the entire text, from top to bottom.
  • Confirm the "OK" button: Once you reach the absolute bottom of the text and the screen can no longer scroll, the "OK" button should become active (change from greyed out to a solid color) and clickable.

If, after scrolling to the end of the text, the "OK" button remains greyed out, please answer the following questions so I can investigate further:

  • What specific Google device are you attempting to set up (e.g., Nest Wifi, Nest Mini, Nest Thermostat, etc.)?
  • What is the make and model of your phone, and what operating system is it running?
  • Have you ensured the Google Home app is updated to the latest version available in the App Store or Google Play Store?

thanks for helping  me out here.

The screen with OK greyed out doesn't not enable/allow me to scroll in any direction.  I have to shutdown the app to close it.

I have the Home app installed on my Pixel 10 Pro that has Android version 16 installed. 

once I get Home to open I want to connect to a Nest Mini and a Nest Thermostat (which may only work on NEst app?)

Several times, I scrolled to the very bottom of all 3 things I had to agree to, but box is still gray.  After that failed I did all the other steps previously stated.  I believe this is a system wide software bug resulting from conversion of Google display speaker to Gemini cause Home App worked fine before that.

I've sent feedback using my Android v13 phone four times but no 1 emailed or called me

I have the same grayed out box problem. I've tried all trouble shooting steps including uninstall, reinstall Google Home app, restart phone and Google speaker, etc. NOTHING WORKS.  Also sent Feedback 3 times but no1 from Google has contacted me. Also, I can't change the speaker voice using Google Assistant settings for Voice. I check the Pothos box, but the speaker voice reverts back to the 1st box which was not checked.  All these problems started when I used Google Home app to convert Google Speaker to Gemini earlier this week.  Everything worked fine before that happened

Extremely frustrating.
