Hey there Vanessa Davey, 

Sorry for the late response, but I wanted to hop in here to make sure your concerns were addressed. Sorry to hear about the issues with the Google app, I know it can be frustrating, but I'm happy to take a look into this for you. 

If you're still having issues with this, I would suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Also, check to make sure that the app is updated as well.
