I had recently moved to a new house and started setting back up all my previous smart devices with Google home. One device I set back up, my Google chromecast, is attached to my LG tv (so I can turn the tv on and off with Google assistant since this LG model didn’t have it built in) seems to be duplicated in Google home. I labeled the Google chromecast as living room tv. When I am in the Home Screen to my Google home, my living room tv only shows up once.
But when I say, “okay google, turn on living room tv” it says it doesn’t know which device to turn on. I further investigated this and under assistant devices, saw this
There is no option I have found to be able to remove these duplicates? Has anyone ever encountered this issue? I have come across different forums and this seems to be a problem a lot of people have encountered.

I love the way that no one helps you when you actually give them screenshots and all the information that is needed. Why? Can't they answer this question? Why can't anyone answer this question? This is the most ridiculous own customer service friendly. Company over I hate Google.

Heh yeah I am starting to regret going all in with Google smart home. I just ended up renaming my device to circumvent this issue.

Hi folks,
Thanks for reaching out and sorry for the delay. Check out this link and see if your other devices are still linked. If so, you can remove it from there. Once done, relink it to the Google Home app.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Juni

You haven’t heard from me in awhile? It took you guys literally months before you even responded to this thread. And the response I get is a link to something that doesn’t even answer the question. This is still an issue with duplicate devices and I regret going with Google

I feel the same way. I haven't heard from these people until today, and I sent a message back in May. I. sent the message so long ago that I forgot which problem it was. I have so many problems with the Google home app. It's ridiculous. It's like a bunch of devices on my Google home app that are duplicated. Some of them work some of the time. Some of them go offline all the time, every time, every day. There's a new issue with a device with Google. This is just. a very sorry, sack, sad case for Google i'm very disappointed. I would love to add some screenshots of the clicking that I've done to try to figure out some of the issues on my phone and it took 27 screenshots of all the different links. The link chain of the help service sent me through and I still didn't even get my question answered I mean Google thinks that you know were just gonna buy their crap but we're not gonna .
