Hi,
I have nest thermostats and smoke detectors on my Nest App and would like to view them all on my Google home app. Do I need to manually set each one up again in Google Home? Is there any easy way to sync?
Thanks

You can heck this FAQs page on migration issues:
https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9297676
You migrate a Nest Account to a Google Account; you do not migrate individual devices.
Google Nest thermostats that are installed in the Google Nest app can be accessed in the Google Home app after migration, but my impression is that you cannot access ALL functionality there.
Google Nest Protects still cannot be accessed in the Google Home app, even after migration.

So I need to use both my google home and Nest app separately for different devices?
I thought the point of Google Home was to be able to combine everything.
My Nest is already migrated to a google account, I just don't see any of the devices in the google home app.

Google Nest is STILL halfway between the 2 apps.
You won't see your Nest Protects in the Google Home app.
You SHOULD see your thermostats if you're signing into both apps with the same Google Account.
Many customers in this forum have reported they weren't seeing their thermostats in the Google Home app, and many have had success with this odd workaround:
In the Google Nest app, create a new, second Google Nest "home/structure".
In the Google Home app, go to that new, empty Google Nest "home/structure" and delete it.
This apparently forces the 2 apps to sync, and the thermostat(s) then appear in the Google Home app.

Unfortunately I still do not see my thermostats or smoke alarms in my Google Home app, but did try the creation and deletion of a new home.
This seems poorly integrated for such a capable firm.

In the process all of my Nest Apps and home disappeared in Nest!

You could try contacting Support, using the link and instructions in this post;
If your migration was successful, and if you are logging onto the Google Nest app using the "Sign in with Google" option and using the Google Account to which you just migrated, and if you are logging onto the Google Home app using the Google Account, and if in both apps you are accessing the same Google Nest "home/structure" you were previously using in the Google Nest app before migration, you SHOULD see your thermostats in both apps; but you will only see your Nest Protects in the Google Nest app (https://www.techhive.com/article/2018807/nest-protect-google-home-support.html).
