The nest is showing offline in the android app as well as the web based interface. I checked the actual nest device and it shows online and connected. I can see it connected via the Google Wifi app and just now I opened google home and see two nest devices one show offline and the other can connect to the nest device.

Yikes. I will ask my AC company to get rid of this thermostat.

Well I guess I can add to this long list of complaints. I have a nest thermostat that is connected fine but the app keeps cutting out saying offline. I reset the thermostat, it stays online for a little, then cuts back to offline. Did anyone solve this problem??

Yep replaced it

Same thing still happening to me

I finally found an easy way to fix my thermostat. On my Internet gateway I reset it and then the thermostat works. Just great… Unless the battery in the thermostat is running out and you need to replace that. Thank you.

Has this ever been fixed?

I see this app problem goes back a couple of years. You would have thought Google would have fixed the app by now with this many of us having same problem. FYI: Mine is Android; one thermostat connected on app, and the other "not connected".  Both thermostats say they are connected, So problem is probably app? Makes no sense. The one "not connected" on app is way closer to router, but Wi-Fi is strong at both.

Way can't I talk to an actual person?

Again I want to talk with a person.  Why are you over complicating a simple request.

What a waist of time.  Your Tech service is very poor a 1.  A bunch of  _ _.  I have beeb on this page for 10 minutes and the issue is still not even been addressed.  I am calling corporate to complain,

Same issue as everyone else this is the second time Google Home is showing my nest as offline even though the nest itself has full battery and strong Wi-Fi connection.

Updating the app doesn't help. Factory reset and reinstallation of the thermostat fixed it last time but that's not a real fix.

With over 200 people experiencing this problem, when is Google going to fix this?

I'm on Android

same issue for me, i ended up swapping it out for new thermostats and they seemed to work without issue now. but I am upset I had to buy new ones

The new ones are doing it again. Ive tried splitting 2.4 and 5, and band steering, but still the same problem

Same. Any fix for this?

I used the "reset" function on the thermostat and just reset it every time it showed "offline" even though it wasn't. After 10 or more resets over 3 or 4 days, it maintained connection and has been working. It's not scientific but it held for a year so it's worth a try.

Settings > reset > restart > turn the ring to restart without resetting info

I have this issue for the first time. Thermostat online, app offline. Have deleted and reloaded app twice and disconnected the thermostat from the internet and reconnected twice. Any other suggestions? I’m on an iPhone.

Get rid of the nest system asap. Remove the nest app and nest thermostat. Get a standard thermostat. I did and my system has been working flawlessly.

So how do you fix it??
it seems that lots of people are having the same problem and you can’t call in for technical advice, and there is no answer here online

Get rid of nest. Have a "regular" thermostat installed. Instant peace.
