Nest App is orange shows hot water on

Nest app shows the hot water icon as orange outside of schedule.  The boiler is not on.

Thanks for reaching out here in the Google Nest Community Forum! I understand that the Nest app display information can be confusing when it shows the system is running but not activated. I'd be happy to shed some light on the situation here.

A few questions: which country are you posting? Is this a new installation? What other strange symptoms have you experienced since the problem started? Also, does it show its heating on the thermostat itself?

The nest thermostat was installed about a year ago and ran to schedule last winter.

When we put the heating on this year we found the system kicked in ( outside of schedule )when the temperature dropped.

The history report showed this and the boiler came on too.

we have resolved the problem by setting and additional hour at the end of each day with a low temperature of 9 degrees.  Since then the heating has not come on randomly overnight.

Although this works it should not be necessary and I’m not sure what will happen if temperatures dip to minus ..
