Nest Learning thermostat won’t stay connected to app

I have followed all suggestions on troubleshooting for this problem but it still persists. Nest thermostat is online but will not stay connected to app. If I take phone to thermostat and press ring it will connect for a short period. Battery level is above recommended. We have another thermostat downstairs that is working perfectly. Any help would be appreciated since my next step is to replace it.

Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us. I'm sorry for the delay and to hear that your Nest Thermostat won't stay connected to your Wi-Fi network.

 

Let's sort this out:

 

  • How far is your Nest Thermostat from the router?
  • Are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near your thermostat? Those devices could interfere with the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth signal.
  • If your Wi-Fi router is a dual-band (supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz signals), your Nest Thermostat may connect to one band better than it connects to the other band, depending on your surroundings. Do you know which channel it was connected to?
