My nest protects have gone completely insane. They literally change what room they are in. One of them claims the batteries are always low despite replacing. I factory reset this garbage and now my app doesn’t show the add button so I can’t add it back. Are these things completely broken or what?

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry for the delay. A few questions: what type of Nest Protect do you have? Is it a battery or wired? How many Nest Protect do you have? Are all of them encountering issues? Could you please share with us the screenshot of the page of the app where it doesn't show the add button? It will help us to figure out what is really happening on your app.
Also, please try to log in to the Nest web app to check if it shows the same thing.
