I have solar panels that supply approximately 98% of my power. How can I make nest renew aware of this?

I don't see an article. How does nest renew know I have solar panels?

Hey Krp1,

I am sorry you are having trouble seeing the article. Nest Renew, goes of the amount of fossil fuel energy used in your home. I will leave the link below for you to click on, so you can learn more.

Ok, I get that. But, how does it work if I have solar panels on my house?

Hey Krp1,

Sorry for any confusion here. Even if you receive a renewable energy service from your electricity provider or have solar panels on your home, Google will still purchase RECs for you through Nest Renew Premium.

With Clean Energy Match, we purchase RECs based on the estimate of the fossil fuel-generated electricity used by the average household. This is not determined by the energy mix of your specific electric utility provider or your particular service. Hope this helps.

Best regards,

Jake

Hi folks,

Just one quick final check in here since activity has slowed down. We'll be locking the thread in the next 24 hours, but if you still need help, I would be happy to keep it open. If there's more we can do, just let me know.

Thanks,
