Not Receiving Nest Verification Code Email

Maintguy

For some reason I stopped receiving the 2FA verification code emails

I have checked the Spam and other like things of the like.

I DO get the emails when I attempt to change the password.   Just not the 2FA verification ones, so I am since pretty much locked out of my nest account and unable to control any of my thermostats.

I have seen other posts on here but really no solutions.

Hi there Maintguy,

Thanks for reaching out to our community.

It's strange that you suddenly stopped getting two-factor authentication emails. Let's check some settings to make sure everything is okay!

Have you gotten any recent emails asking you to confirm the deletion of your Nest account? There have been cases where the 2FA emails don't go through because the account is eliminated. I don't think this is the case since you're able to get the password change emails, but it's worth checking out.

It depends on your email service, but some use what we call an "allowlist" that basically lets your email always receive emails from certain email addresses. If you have it, make sure to add @Nest.com to your allowlist. This can basically ensure the email will go through if there are any filters in place.

Let me know if this helps.

Regards,

Angel.

Hi Angel,

Thanks so much for your help. This is very frustrating as I have a large number of thermostats for our company that I now have no access to.

But No, Haven't received any messages about account deletion.

As for the email service,  It is our own corporate email server and email address.  I already have checked to make sure things are ok on this end.  As I said, I am receiving the emails when I request to change the password, so I am stumped.

Any other Ideas?

OK , Issue Solved

It turns out that the problem was on our end.

Because The Email with the code is labeled to be from "#" when it's actually from Google.com.  It generated a "Sender-Alignment Failure" and was removed before getting to my email box.

The problem has been since corrected and I am able to sign in.

Thanks for your help!
