Pixel 10 Pro doesn't get Google Home Notifications

I have a Pixel Pro 10 and I can not get Google Home Notifications to work on it.

Here are my devices and current status.

  • Pixel Pro 10 - Doesn't work
  • Pixel tablet - worked, but disabled Home app during troubleshooting
  • Pixel watch 3 - worked, but disabled notifications during troubleshooting
  • I also had a Pixel 7 phone that was my previous phone prior to the 10 Pro which still would receive notifications.  I have factory reset this during troubleshooting.
  • Nest Doorbell Gen 2 Wired
  • (2) Nest outdoor cam Gen 1

Troubleshooting steps

  • Verified all notification settings were allowed on Pixel 10 Pro.
  • Cleared Cache on Pixel 10 Pro - Still broke
  • Cleared Cache and Data on Pixel 10 Pro - Still broke
  • Reinstalled Home app on Pixel 10 Pro - Still broke
  • Uninstalled Home app, rebooted, reinstalled Home app on Pixel 10 Pro - Still broke
  • Factory reset old Pixel 7 as I read some people had luck fixing new phone once old phone was off account. - Still broke
  • Disable Home app on Pixel tablet as you can not uninstall
  • Placed Pixel 3 watch into airplane mode to see if it was somehow stopping notifications from going to phone - Still broke.
  • I saw someone post that going to the beta program help them but I don't want to be in beta.

Any other ideas?

More info, in case asked.

  • How many cameras do you have, and what models are they?
    • 1 Nest Doorbell Gen 2
    • 2 Next Outdoor Cam Gen 1
  • If you have more than one camera, is this issue happening with all of them?
    • Yes
  • Is the device detecting events?
    • Yes, shows under activity in App
  • Is this issue constant or intermittent?
    • Constant
  • Do you have activity zones created?
    • Yes

Well I got a system update this morning which is not normal as I installed a system update back on December 5th.  After reboot my problem appears to be solved.  Will update here if this changes.

Thank you.

It is a confirmed bug if you search it up online - it is from an update. Maybe try clearing the cache for the google home app or check notifications. If that does not work, then I don't know sorry.

I had the same issue with my Pixel 10 Pro XL and my battery Nest doorbell - people could ring the bell or be picked up by the camera and my phone wouldn't notify me, and it was also the same on my wife's Pixel 10 Pro XL.   If the bell was pushed our Nest Mini speakers would notify us, but there was nothing at all from the phones.  Solution for us was to uninstall the Google Home app then immediately reinstall it and go back through the config and it would work again for a while, but would stop again some time (days or weeks) later and I'd have to do it again.

We've since switched to a Ring doorbell on the front of the house and that is working perfectly.  The Nest doorbell is now located on the back door (paid for the subscription last year and have some time left, so it's kind of a wildlife camera more than anything, but also reassuring if somebody gets into the back garden) and since I moved it it's doing the same thing.  Uninstall and reinstall the Home app seems to work for us, but it's annoying.

Have there been any updates that anyone has heard? This is a pretty frustrating issue. I feel is actually presents a security risk if I cannot get Google Home notifications whatsoever.

I did have a Google play system update which seems to resolve the issue for me.  The day before I did remove home from all other devices (had old pixel 7, pixel tablet, and watch).  Now that it's working, I readded the tablet and watch and things have been good.

I'd recommend going into settings and making sure all system and apps are fully up to date.

I've checked for updates and everything is up to date. Thing were working fine until I needed to reboot my phone and now push notifications are broken again.

I just purchased the Google pixel 10 pro XL and ever since I have received it I no longer receive notifications from my Google home application. If this continues I will have to return this phone and go back to Samsung.

Hi RickyBobby23,

Try and make sure that notifications are allowed on your Google Pixel - Settings → Apps → Google Home → Notifications

If that doesn't work, you can try to check if your app and device is in sync - Open the Google Home app → your profile → Manage your Google Account → Sync.

And if that doesn't work, then try reinstalling google home or restart your google home device and phone.

I hope this helps!
