Q: If I added devices using the Home App are they automatically available in the Nest app?

Hi,

I have all my devices well configured in the Home App.

I just got a Google Nest Doorbell. According to the documentation, some of the Doorbell configuration is only available in the Nest App.

I've installed the Nest App, logged in. I can see my home and I can set if I'm home or not. But I cannot find any devices,  like my door bell.

The front page on the Nest App has a "Home" button and a "add product"  button. How do I finde my devices?

Thanks,
René

I'd like to know this answer too. When I went to add the Nest doorbell to Google Home, it said go to Nest. So I did but now I have duplicate homes!

Well for starters you're lying.  Using my sisters name.  Just stop.  It's never too far gone.   I'd rather move on.  And I have to assume you would too.

To answer your question, the new cameras that were released 2021 are not available in the Nest App. They are only available in the Google Home App.

Ok, but how come nothing is visible in my Nest app, when I can  see 10+ devices in my Google Home App? Do the two apps share data or not? I may be asking the wrong question here 😀.

Led me try to add some more details:
I have added all my devices in the home app (cromecasts, nest hubs, doorbell, sonos) and arranged them nicely into rooms - everything is available in the home app - nice. The root is called "home". It all worked well and I had not even installed the nest app.

Then I get the information, that some of the doorbell features can only be set using the nest app. Ok, i install the nest app on my android phone. I open the app, log in with my google account, and see a "home". "home" indicates that I should be able to see all the devices in the nest app (it knows the name of the root "home"). But "home" seems to be empty, I cannot see any devices.

To rephrase my question:

Do the google home app and the nest app share data? It would make good sense, but I cannot see any data in the nest app?

Thanks

Some devices are only available in the Nest App, new cameras from 2021 are only available in the Home App. They share information, but it depends on the function, and device and which app its in. I sounds like you migrated over to Google Home, so you may not have some of the same function you may have had in the Nest App.
