I have 4 Swann Security Cameras linked to the google home app. I was previously able to view live video from these cameras within the google home app and cast to other google home devices (Chromecast etc…) this functionality is no longer working.
Is there a reason why this is not working?

1. Check the Google Home and Swann Security Camera integration:
Ensure that both the Google Home app and Swann Security Camera app are updated to their latest versions.
Verify that your Swann cameras are still connected and linked properly to your Google Home app.
2. Re-link the cameras to Google Home:
Go to the Google Home app.
Under "Home," select "Devices" and check if your Swann cameras are listed.
If they're not showing up, try unlinking and then re-linking the Swann cameras by navigating to the “Works with Google” section in the Google Home app.
3. Check Google Assistant settings:
Make sure Google Assistant is set up correctly for controlling the cameras.
If casting to Chromecast is not working, ensure the Chromecast devices are on the same Wi-Fi network as the camera.
4. Network or Wi-Fi issues:
Sometimes, network issues may cause delays or interruptions in streaming. Make sure that your Wi-Fi network is stable and has sufficient bandwidth.
5. Restart the devices:
Restart both the Swann cameras and the Google Home app.
Reboot your Google Home device (Chromecast, etc.) to ensure proper functionality.
6. Check permissions and cloud service:
Ensure that the cloud services for your cameras are active and functioning properly.
Check the permissions in the Google Home app to ensure that the necessary permissions for streaming are allowed.
After going through these steps, your issue should be resolved. If not, it may be worth checking with Swann's support to see if there are any ongoing issues with their integration with Google Home.

In March 2024 voice activation to smart displays ceased, so maybe they have completely severed ties with Google.
On their website they stopped promoting that it "Works with Google".

Okay thanks! I thought that might be the case since it used to work perfectly fine, viewing live video on the app and casting to cameras to chromecast etc..
Seems strange to be they would cease a feature that ties in perfectly to smart homes allowing you to have everything in one place!
