Time to Leave the NEST ecosystem

Finally time to Leave the NEST ecosystem and move to more STABLE platform.

This is the 2nd time allll my NEST devices have gone missing from my account.  and it's very hard to go back up the 2 story roof line and plug my outdoor cameras into USB into my laptop to "RE-set them up"

Similar story here - fed up with the slowness and poor network connectivity of devices which frequently disappear from the home screen. Only today I had to manually remove and re-add a single nest device which randomly decided to stay disconnected for a few days.

I've had a nest sub for 2 years and have simply had enough now. The Nest Thermostat is brilliant and the fire alarm Protects function well (although I have NO idea why Google has no support for a Google owned product (Protect) in their OWN app (Home)), but the video cams and especially the doorbell (which is why I have a sub in the first place) are really terrible.

Regardless of my network conditions, they are SOOOOOO slow in logging me in and letting me talk to whoever’s rung the doorbell. Quite often they’ve got bored with waiting and walked off.
I now find out they’re doing it deliberately as they want you to use the Google Home app instead - which although faster is still far too slow (to give you an idea, whilst at work, time taken from launching the app to getting to the stage of being able to talk to someone from the camera is:

Ring <5s
Nest via Google Home 10-20s
Nest via Nest App 40-120s

These are consistent repeatable results. It's just not good enough imo.
Who at Google thinks this is acceptable? I'm fed up with missing deliveries in this ecosystem.

Then you have other multiple issues upon issues which NEVER get fixed:

Frequently logging you out of the nest app for no reason meaning you have to re-enable permissions again and again.

Multiple false alerts when cars go by outside the trigger zones,

NO thumbnail images of the cameras in the Home app (which is one reason why we don't want the Nest app to go - I don't want to click another tile to see an image, I want it front and centre on the home page).

No separate chime available and the nest mini as a substitute also has a massive delay in announcing anything. -> I can ring the doorbell, unlock the front door, enter the house, close the front door, take off my shoes and THEN the nearest mini says that I'm at the door.....SMH

Frequently being in the app but going offline locally

Frequently having to repeat commands as the voice recognition isn't very good (yes I do speak slowly and clearly).

I could go on and on....

I recently got a Ring Alarm and Stick Up Cam and was SO impressed with the responsiveness of the app and how quickly you can interact with an event (the WHOLE point of these video feeds) that I am moving over to them now.

I won't renew my subscription with nest and will sell those devices and replace them with Ring ones.

Am happy to keep the Thermostat and Protects "as is" as they don't require a subscription and work with the hub mini's around the house.....but it's bye bye Google for the important things in my home (Alarm, security cams, doorbell) where I am joining a more stable platform instead.
