Trying to set up after a move

We just moved and I'm having a heck of a time trying to set up my Nest to our new home. I have done a factory reset, have deleted and reinstalled the Home app, and the stuff from my old house keeps coming up. One thing I'm trying to do is to add my SiriusXM account back to my Nest and the only solution I can find is to hit the + and add it. The problem is there is no + to be found.

I'd like to start from scratch at my new home (different rooms, etc.) but Google doesn't seem to allow me to do that. What am I doing wrong? I'm at my wits end here.

Hi AlohaVegas,

Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us. A few questions: what Nest speaker do you own? What is the exact message that you are getting from the Google Home app during setup? What phone are you using (Android or iOS)? Is the Google Home app updated? Also, have you tried relinking the Google Home app? Using another phone will also help us isolate this.

Check out this link for more information about moving guide for Nest devices

Thank you. I have a Google Home Hub. It's not that I'm getting a message per se. But there is no way to add SiriusXM to Google Home so I can stream my favorite stations. There are a few stations that will stream, but not all of them. It will play one song from many stations and then stop. I uninstalled and reinstalled Google Home on my Android phone, so I'm assuming that I'm working with the most up to date version of Google Home. I have a Samsung table I can try using to link to the Hub to see if that works.

But I don't see how that would explain that the rooms, etc. are still showing up from my old house. I'm still baffled. Thanks for replying. I await further ideas.

Hello AlohaVegas,

Let’s try to do some troubleshooting steps.

  • Create a new Home and delete the old Home you had. You can follow the steps here. Note that if you have working devices in the old home, make sure to move it to the new home before deleting.
  • Factory reset your Google Nest Hub once more.
  • Set up Google Nest Hub in the new Home. During the setup process, you will be prompted to link music/radio services. Try to link SiriusXM through that process.

Keep us posted.

Best,
Alex

Hi there,

I wanted to follow up and see if you are still in need of any help. Have you had the chance to try the suggestion above? If yes, how is it?

Kind regards,
Alex

Everything seems to be working now. I didn't do anything other than give it time. The Siriux/XM issue seems to be a Sirius/XM issue from what I've read in another thread. Thank you for your support!
