Want to lower the volume on nest cam completely, but cannot due to google app error

Cannot turn volume all the way down while live viewing camera, which is a huge issue/flaw in your system. I have the old black nest came and still use nest to view it because I am able to lower the volume to zero so that when I’m listening in the room late at night, I don’t wake up my husband or if in the nursery, don’t wake up baby. It literally just requires google engineers to fix that issue and allow me to lower the volume completely. are there plans to fix this? I understand I can turn off the audio and microphone but then I can’t get audio recording and then the next day if I forget to turn it on, I don’t get alerts until I remember to turn it back on. Please help.

I have the same issue with the iOS app. Looks like there was another thread about this that was closed with no resolution.

I have the same issue and I am very angry this is a major issue and I  think it is  lazy of google to continue to have people talk about them and just have their threads closed because google doesn't view them as important.
