Found a workaround in another post:

On your phone, go to Settings -> Apps -> select the Google app -> click the 3 dots in the top right corner -> uninstall updates. Once you do that, reinstall the updates for the Google app through the Play Store. Then you can go back to voice match settings and it should work.

Hey there,
Sorry for the late response, but I wanted to drop in here to help.

I understand that this issue can be confusing but I definitely wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

Just wanted to double check to see if you were still needing help on this? If so, what troubleshooting steps have you tried?

Please let me know.

Best regards,
Garrett DS

  1. Open the Family Link app
  2. Select the name of the child
  3. Tap ‘Manage Settings’
  4. Go to ‘Google Assistant’
  5. Tap ‘Add your child to new devices’

Step five always give the screen with the message wifi not connected, make sure that the phone is connected to the same wifi network.

I have also tried to add the child as a member from the google home app by adding the childs mail address. When doing this the app tells me that the account need to be added from the family link app and tries to launch the family link app with the correct action but results in the same error as before.

Hi there bigklubba,

Since you're receiving that error message, have you double checked that they are both on the same wifi network and are using the same gmail or email accounts when trying to set that up?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Garrett DS

Yes nest and all devices are connected to the same WiFi. I had no problem adding my wife to the devices, it's just the child account which is connected to the family link app

Hey there,

Sorry to hear that you're still having these issues.

I would suggest going through these steps.

  1. Go to the Apps section in your settings on your phone.
  2. Find the Family Link app
  3. Click on it, and click Force Stop.
  4. Then go into the Storage of the app, and clear the cache and data.
  5. Uninstall and Reinstall the app.
  6. Restart your phone.

Please let me know if that works for you.

Best regards,

Garrett DS

Tried all the steps... sorry to say.. the issue remains!

I'm having the same issue

Can I join in? I'm also having the same troubles for adding my son to the Home. When I add him through the Home app (will redirect me to the Family link app) or the Family link app it keeps complaining that there is no Wifi connection, but I'm sure that there is.

Already tried the steps described above but it is still not working.

Thanks! I can confirm it works after uninstalling the updates and reinstalling them again.

Yes, thanks that worked!

Only one thing: I checked it this midday if it worked, I didn't have time to continue the configuration, when I wanted to finish the configuration later on the day the error was back, needed to redo the steps. But it is configured.
