1st Generation Wired Nest Doorbell Clear Cover Peeling

I have the first generation wired Nest Doorbell.  It works great, but the out covering of it (a clear plastic) has become brittle and started peeling.  It looks terrible!  The doorbell is designed to work outdoors, and after about two years, it shouldn't be breaking apart like it is.  Is there any way to get this covering replaced to protect the rest of the unit or get it exchanged?  I know I'm outside the 1 year warranty, but this seems like a product defect based on all the other cases I've seen with the same issue.

I've seen other threads in other community threads (like https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Cameras-and-Doorbells/Google-Nest-Hello-Doorbells-both-cracke...), others have been able to get some kind of support or replacements even when outside of warranty.  I'll fill out the form and see what happens.  Thanks!
