$220 Nest Door bell peeling and cracking after 1 year

Google's Hello Doorbell's front cover starts peeling and deteriorating after a year. Many cases have been reported and Google will not replace those once your year warranty has expired. They are aware and while in the past replaced the units, their policy has changed while NOT improving the product (but rejecting customers' complaints).

With my unit, after one year, the front panel started to peel and crack. It looks bad. I contacted Google's customer service to report the issue and the Google's solution was to buy a new unit that is also defected with the same issue.

This is the last sentence from the conversation, while "hanging up" on my chat (with a  Senior Service rep):

I've given you the answer, and I have other customers who need my assistance, so I'll be ending this call or chat now. Thank you for contacting Google support and have a good day.

Hi there,

I apologize for my late response and thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I understand how frustrating your situation must be, and I would love to help however I can. I am afraid that unless the device is in warranty, we are unable to assist you further in these forums with this request. In fact, we do not process replacements at all in these Nest Community Forums. You will need to contact Support if you wish.

Best Regards,

Brad.

Hi Brad,

I already received a rude answer from google support. I just want to warn other people not to do a mistake and buy this poorly designed awful product. I say that with full convenience as an R&D engineer for a major international company that stands behind the products even beyond the warranty period.

Google Nest knew about this issue and they didn't make any improvement on the hardware issue over the years when this doorbell sold. At least they could compensate disappointed consumers with a discount on thier next improved version of this poorly designed product.

good luck.
