24/7 history timeline only on some cameras.

I have had Nest cameras for years and recently migrated to the Google Home app. I think it went ok, I can see everything in google home and access the cameras, etc.

I just set up a new outdoor nest camera and noticed it has the full 24/7 history timeline option in the Google Home app. I can easily switch between event view and full history for the new camera. However, my existing cameras, don’t show this option, I can only see the event view, despite having Nest aware premium.

I am pretty sure everything is migrated, so I am at a loss and just spent the last two hours trying to figure it out without success.

One of my pre-existing cameras shows the timeline but 3 do not 😕 I’d like to know, for sure, that I have access to my 10 days of 24/7 history on all my cameras. Can anybody help? Thanks!!

To be clear, you did NOT migrate to the Google Home app. You migrated your Nest Account to a Google Account.

Any cameras and doorbells that were originally installed in the Google Nest app continue to work in the Google Nest app. (We migrated 3 years ago.) These older cameras and doorbells can also be viewed in the Google Home app, but NOT with full functionality. You can livestream the older cameras and doorbells in the Google Home app, and you can see their event history, but the 24/7 history, as well as configuration, can still only be done in the Google Nest app and on the home.nest.com website.  You will need to continue to use the Google Nest app to see 24/7 video history for your older cameras that were installed in the Google Nest app.  That's what we've been doing since migrating in 2020.

And all cameras, old and new, can be livestreamed on the preview/beta home.google.com website that went live in Oct. 2022.

Also, Google Nest is just now making it possible for customers to try out moving their 1st gen indoor cameras (only) from the Google Nest app to the "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app:

Thank you, makes sense I suppose. just a bummer that functionality is split between two apps. Meh

So your response for customers that have been with you before you purchased Nest is we never bothered to get the video history working in our new app. And then you tell everyone to convert over knowing it does not work and then you say just use the two apps to get the information you need. Put the resources into getting it right in Google Home and stop with the cludge two application answer. Wish I never invested in your system

I used to be able to see the history of my new cameras on home.google.com and the history of my older cameras on home.nest.com.  Now I can only view my newer cameras live on home.google.com but no history.  I can still see my older cameras on home.nest.com with history.

It seems to me that Google has taken away the history for my new cameras.  This is unfortunate for me as I rely on them for security.

Both event video history and 24/7 video history is still available for us for our newer cameras in the Google Home app. Event video history is still available for us for our older cameras in the Google Home app; that became available within the last year.

We still see only live-streaming on the home.google.com website for all of our cameras, old and new. History has never been available on the home.google.com website since it went live in "preview" mode in Oct. 2022; there are many posts in this forum wishing there was history available there. The home.nest.com website still shows everything for our older cameras.

if that is true its not providing it to me and I can not even speak to someone or find our in someway how to troubleshoot. No history in Home app ios for old cameras. Why??????

@mrbiggr

When viewing the livestream for your older cameras and doorbells in the Google Home app, click on the dots in the upper right corner and you should get several options, including "Full history", if you have a Nest Aware or Nest Aware Plus subscription for the same Google Nest "home/structure" that includes your older cameras.  I don't know how it works if you have a 1st gen Nest Aware subscription.
